A urinary blockage is a serious and potentially life-threatening emergency, especially in male cats. Signs may include repeated trips to the litter box, straining to urinate, crying, producing little or no urine, vomiting, hiding, or appearing weak and uncomfortable.
Our veterinary team provides prompt evaluation and treatment for blocked cats, including urinary catheterization, pain management, IV fluids, laboratory testing, hospitalization, and continued monitoring. In recurrent or complicated cases, additional treatment or surgery may be recommended.
If your cat is straining and unable to urinate, seek veterinary care immediately.
